The first week of work went okay. I had a few rough patches, but mostly I think I handled everything in the most professional manner I could. I'm finding that co-workers are either really helpful and trying to teach me about the residents or trying to dump work on me because I am so new. The nicest thing so far is that it's only three days a week and any time I found myself getting fustrated I calmed myself by telling myself that I only worked till Sunday and then I had four days off. My work week is Fri-Sun with 12 hour shifts. It kills my ability to have a weekend, unless I request off, but it also frees up Mon-Thurs to go to school.
I also have a job interview at a hostiptal on Wed. I'm hoping that goes well and am going to see what they can offer. A job there would offer more room for career growth then at a nursing home so it might be a better route. I won't really know anything till Wed.
Mostly I'm just stressed because I have a rough draft of a paper to put together. I have plenty of information for a draft so I should be fine. It'll just be stressful fleshing it out to fifteen pages.
