The world I life in really worries me at times. People I come into contact with can be so ignorant. Why?
I'll give an example from a few days ago. This man drove his semi-cab through drive thru. Not only did he have to turn his truck off so I could hear him but the moment he heard a girls voice he was all 'hey baby' and trying to pick me up. Here's a tip: If you drive a semi, we let you walk thru. What you need to do is go to the window, explain your situation and we'll be undersatning. No promblem, no big deal.
Honestly I think he was high as well as stupid, which of course is never a good combination.
Moving on, yestereday I got sent home form work. Did I get sent home because I was sick? Was it because I had a sweater on, my shirt and had put a jacket on top of all that and was still cold? Was I sent home because I threw up? (In the bathroom, sorry, I know many will find this gross) No, I was sent home because my manger overheard me venting to another employee that she was being unjustly mean to me. My complaints had nothing to do with being ill.
Its difficult to work with this woman. I get yelled at at least once a day and also told that I'm worthless.
It's stupid.
Her complaint was that I hadn't done the dishes the day before. When I came in at five on that day she was all 'guess what, you not on drive thru. I put you on front.' (Front is the counter register, which also means I'm to do the dishes.)
Then she found out she read the schedule wrong and that the kid she wanted to put on drive-thru didn't come in till six. So I got drive-thru for an hour.
There was huge stack of dishes. As I started onthem she came over smiling and told me 'well you have four hours'. The she told me she could get it done in half an hour. We were busy and if the people on line (those making the food) needed something they asked me to do get it for them. It wasn't easy because I was sick and moving slowly, but I got them all done by nine. There was a sink full of dishes sitting in the saniter water that only needed to be put away, but there weren't any that needed to be washed. I was going to start cleaning the dining room because the entire thing has to be clean by ten, when the inside of the store is then closed and only drive-thru is opened, then I was going to empty the sink and finish the dining room.
While I was emptying the trash cans my brother emptied the sink for me. I thanked him and continued to clean my dining room.
I was done before ten. I as there till 11. I figured she'd want me to do all the carry over dishes or put me on drive-thru for an hour. At ten we change over all the pans and then of course we need to wash them. So I assumed that the sink full of dishes I found after I finished my dining room was the carry over dishes.
This manager sent me home at ten saying I couldn't even get the dishes done.
She brought this up last night and was still pissed at me. So I complained to one of my co-workers because I was sick and tired and didn't want to argue with her. Hence I just vented. She over heard me and sent me home. It's hard to get dishes done before 10 because there's so much to do, after ten it'd have been easy to get any dishes done.
Well anyway like I said I got sent home. She also grabbed the schedule for next week and started looking at mine. So I don't even know what's going to happen when I go into work today. I'm nervous and really want to start looking for a new job despite the fact that I only have problems working with this manger and one of her best friends.
