Recently got three podfics made for two fics.

One is a Star Wars drabble about Chopper/AP-5 and Chopper's thoughts on their relationship. It's called Duo and the podfic by Flowerparrish is here.

The other two are for a Stranger Things fic. It was a birthday gift for geeky_ramblings and is a Steve/Eddie fic called Alternative the podfic by Podfic_mcgee is here and the podfic by Dairaliz is here.
I'm working my way through the Jedi Quest books. I'd read the first two and then I think I got busy with work and didn't read for a bit and picks up something else when I did. There's this passage in book 2 The Trail of the Jedi that has Anakin making an argument for colonization and I'm kinda going can someone please Gibbs-slap this teenager?

The conversation )

Then it goes into Anakin not believing that Tatooine or the Temple on Coruscant is his home and him deciding that his mother is home to him. Part of me wants to shake Anakin and be all wtf kid while another part of me is going there is no way the Empire respected that agreement.

Because this amused me. It's from Legacy of the Jedi by Jude Watson.

Going to put this under a cut because spoilers? Usually I'm reading about three books at a time, but somehow I have four.

Two of my fics recently got podfics!

Hope the World Keeps Its Balance Is a Shaak pov where Boba asks Shaak to help rescue Jango and then Jango and Shaak flirt. The podfic is here and I really like how korechthonia captured how stressed Boba is.

Reason is a Boil/Waxer fic where they share their first kiss. The podfic is here and I really like how kbirb captures how grumpy Boil is.
Last month I had five audiobooks come off hold within two days of each other. I got through four of them. I returned The Bacta War by Michael A. Stackpole, which is the fourth book in the X-wing series, mostly because I hadn't finished the third book and didn't want to rush through the third book to get to the forth. I'm enjoying it. So I returned The Bacta War and put it on hold again.
I like to listen to an audiobook while I'm driving to and from work and a friend recommended the audiobook An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green and I really enjoyed it so I went to check out the next book A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor. There was a wait on it so I decided I'd reread Alphabet Squadron by Alexander Freed because I'd never finished the series. So I started Alphabet Squadron and then that day two other audiobooks I'd had on hold came avaliable. The next day two more books I had on hold came avaliable. I have five audiobooks to read:

A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor by Hank Green
Alphabet Squadron by Alexander Freed (a reread)
Path of Deceit by Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland
The Bacta War by Michael A. Stackpole (This is 4th in the X-wing series and I still need to read book 3)
A Million to One by Adiba Jaigirdar (a reread, I got to listen to an ARC last year)

I started Alphabet Squadron, but have mostly been listening to A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor. I'm not sure I'll get through all of them, but I'm going to try.

So I haven't really watched the Bad Batch, but one of my friends let me know that two of my favorite characters were in the latest episode so I watched it. The latest episode also introduced a new clone captain named Howzer and I couldn't resist writing him a drabble pairing him with Gree found here. My friend MapleOwl18 and I got to talking and she wrote a sequel fic found here and it's amazing and so sweet and I love them!
I just realized I haven't flailed or squeed about some awesome fics lately!

My birthday was a month ago! [personal profile] thesecondbatgirl gifted me with this amazing Boil/Waxer get married ficlet that you can find here. I cried. They got married and exchanged vows and it's so beautiful!

I'm really grateful I saw something on Tumblr talking about putting a blanket statement in your profile on AO3 with permission for podfic, art, and translations because since I've done that three of my fics now have podfic! I never thought one of my Stargate fics would get a podfic, but one did! GodofLaundryBaskets made podfic of my Teal'c centric the team comes together to find him a way off base. You can find the podfic here and my fic here.

So back in 2004 when I big into X-men and Generation X and had barely scratched the surface of being into comics I wrote a Jono centric fic about Jono deciding to leave the X-mansion while he is depressed. He's mourning Ang and in a relationship with Bobby. Of course this was back during that whole secondary mutation storyline where Bobby was going through a lot! Back in March I got my first AO3 comment on this fic. Fellowshipper asked to write a sequel and of course I said sure! And then I didn't read the sequel. I was in a non-reading funk, which is kinda similar to I can't seem to beta funk, and lets just say 2020 into 2021 was not good for my mental health and leave it at that. Anyway, I finally read this fic and you guys it's brilliant! Totally captured the tone of the fic I wrote, but expanded on it and just brought a really great closure to the Jono and Bobby. It's beautiful. You can find the fic I wrote here and the sequel fellowshipper wrote here

Two of my fics got podfics today! I'm so excited!!!

Hesitation was created by TheOneCalledEli for the Awesome Ladies Podfic Anthology XI and is for a Captain Marvel Maria/Carol get back together post movie fic that can be found here.

A Fix was created by semperfiona_podfic for [personal profile] noxelementalist for [community profile] purimgifts for a Star Wars Sequel gen fic of Rose meets Rey after The Force Awakes that can be found here.

They both really capture the different feelings that I tried to put into each fic and I'm still feeling flaily!
I've only just started listening to Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover on audiobook. I've seen it praised before on Twitter and Tumblr, but wow is it really good. I like the Anakin/Padme reunite a lot better than what was in the movie. One thing that was odd to me was when they're in the lift shaft Anakin watches his lightsaber fall away and has a moment of 'thank goodness Obi-Wan is knocked out and can't lecture me about losing my lightsaber,' but in the next scene he has his lightsaber. I really loved the introspection into Mace and how he sees shatterpoints.

I've also just started The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune which I saw recced on [community profile] fandomsecrets and it's a delight so far. I've been reading a few books lately that blend the modern world with the supernatural world: Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger and Vial Things by Leah Clifford before this book so I almost feels like I've got a fun theme going. This one has a dystopia tilt to it, but Goodreads is promising me found family and it seems that the author writes queer books so I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. I'm really liking all the characters so far and there's a cat, Calliope.

I've seen several Tumblr posts about a clone character Glitch who believes he's force sensitive. It took me a moment to find the comic. Defenders of the Lost Temple by Justin Aclin. I was really grateful when I could get it through an inter-library loan because when I finally found someone selling a copy after looking at that option first they wanted over $100. It's a one shot aimed at children...um no. It's a delightful story. Glitch didn't disappoint and I really loved Rennax, the padawan character.
I'm still in that I want to consume all the canon that I can mode when it comes to Star Wars. So here's a list of the books that I've read. Please feel free to suggest what I should read next.

Star Wars:

Since watching Rebels I've been wanting Rex and Luke meet and this fic Ghosts of Endor by merfilly and ilyena_sylph was exactly what I needed. It's Rex at the celebration on Endor reeling a bit from his past, cause canon PTSD, and meeting Luke and the two of them talk a bit and it really felt like the start of a friendship that they both are needing at that point in their lives. It was fantastic.

For the [community profile] past_imperfect exchange I got post S4 Rebels gen fic that follows what happens to Ezra after the finale. There's time travel involved and he gets pulled in the Sequel time where he quickly meets Jacen Syndulla. It's gen and so amazing. Many a Winding Turn by ambiguously.

GLOW:

My favorite pairing on GLOW is Cherry/Keith. I adore their dynamic! For [community profile] yuletide I got Hello world! I'm your wild girl by Elasmo. It's how Cherry and Keith meet on set when Cherry is having a rough day being a stunt double. Cherry is her badass self while having to put up with some ridiculous working conditions, Keith helps her out afterwards in his typical kinda way. It's from Cherry's POV and the moment she realizes she's attracted to Keith was so perfect!

The Flash:

I really enjoy Lisa/Cisco and this fic I was gifted for the [community profile] multifandomtropefest was everything I'd ever want in a Lisa breaks into Cisco's apartment to ask for help and it takes them a moment to trust each other, but they're attracted to each other and slowly build their trust for each other. They actually talk! Communication is a thing I love in fic so seeing characters communicate and having some hurt comfort just makes a fic that much more an amazing read. I really enjoyed Maybe This Time by Sandrine Shaw.

Challenge #7

Promote/Rec/Sing the Praises* of Yourself!

I like that I've been running a Power Rangers Femslash exchange. This will be the tenth year. I created a DW comm for it last year [community profile] prfemslashex and I'm hoping to be able to promote other toku centered exchanges on there. Or even other femslash centered exchanges. I'm always happy to see more femslash.

I really like a fic I wrote for I wrote for the [community profile] piningexchange last year. It's a Rogue One everyone lives and nobody dies fic from Stordan Tonc's pov. He's a minor character in the movie and book adaptation. I was expecting maybe 5k when I plotted it out and was a little overwhelmed because I don't often write longer fic and certainly hadn't written that much for a Star Wars fic before. It's a little over 10k and Stordan Tonc/Bodhi Rook. I liked the background I gave Stordan, that he's dealing with PTSD while still trying to find ways to help the Rebellion and falling for Bodhi. I'm still working my way through supplemental material and wasn't sure who to grab for the medic or mechanic I needed, but I think taking Carter from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue and Damon from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy worked. The fic is here.

I didn't expect to come out of the MCU movie Endgame shipping Nebula and Rhodey, but when I got them as a prompt for the [community profile] mcu_exchange I really liked the way I wrote Nebula and Rhodey bonding and Nebula working through her trust/identity issues. It's a bit of 3k and is here

Challenge #6

In your own space, make a list — anything between one and ten things is a sweet spot, but don't feel constrained by that! - of things that you wish existed in fandom or elsewhere, or that you'd like someone to make for you.

One Beta request and a list of prompts, all Star Wars so cut for possible spoilers.
