In an hour an a half I have to be at my brother's birthday party. He chose for us to eat at Red Lobster. Never been there, so it should be interesting. Just me, my grandma, Chad (my brother), Rosina (his girlfriend), and Mom. Dad's still out of town on business. I got him a journal with blank pages that way he can draw in them if he likes, a copy of Velvet Goldmine and before going I'm going to get him some scratch off tickets since he's acquired Kenny's love for them.

Speaking of Kenny (nice sequey huh?) I haven't talked to him since I started my new job and it's driving me slightly batty. Should call him, but don't cause I hate the phone. I'd much rather drive all the way out to Taco Bell and bug him while he's working.

I prefeer e-mail to phones. Actually had a conversation with Alan about this. He agreed, mostly I think because then you can relook at what you've written and reword if you need to. When I'm talking to people I sometimes get nervous and babble. When I write I can be more concise.

Haven't talked to my manger about the guy I'm having trouble with. Feel bad about it, then feel stupid for feeling bad. If it was a matter of him not understanding his job I'd try and explain, but it's a matter of him being lazy and bad with the residents so hence I'm talking to my manager. Not sure why I feel awful about that.

Homework calls so that's all.

Well I think I just failed my Philosophy class, which sucks, but if I did I'll retake the class. Which would be nice actually because this time around I felt rushed, as if I simply had no time to learn the material, which bothered me. I don't know. I e-mailed my professor and am going to see what happened because I don't think one of my tests submitted. Internet classes are kinda hard, but I like not having to go into a class.

Diner was good, my cousins and Aunt Kandi showed up last thing, so I didn't get to spend much time with them as I had to leave to go to class. Seeing them was nice though, I don't get to see enough of them.

For my creative non-fiction class we're doing immersion essays and I was having the worst time coming up with a topic so my professor gave me the name and number of his barber and I'm going to call him to see if I can visit his work place. I have my fingers crossed because that would be an interesting experience I think.

The talk with my manager went really well. Her first question was if it was a language barrier problem or something else. I told her that if it was just a matter of a language barrier I'd have no problems because we could work on that, but that my problem was that he was lazy and wasn't good for the residents. I told her I didn't want to be ungrateful that she was sending someone to work the openned shifts, but I told her some of the things that've been going on and she was sympathetic and agreed to send someone else. They're going to keep him at the house he normally works at because he can have more supervison and she mentioned that they'd have problems with him as well. So I was all happy with that.

Had a conversation with my mom that upset me though, this was before diner. My brother had seemed restless and upset about something when I walked in to their house and he quickly left after I showed up. When I asked my mom what was wrong she said that he'd been talking about getting his nipples pierced and wanted to know what she thought. She said she advised him to talk to our father (our dad is pretty much opposed to my brother piercing anything) because he's had his pierced for years. She then told me that in some social circles they're considered gay, and wrinkled her nose in digust, before she started telling me that she didn't like them at all. After talking to her I was in the basic state of mind as my brother and quickly left.

Luckily as I said dinner went well. I got him scratch off tickets as well as the items I mentioned earlier. He was excited about the tickets, thanked me for the journal and loved the movie. His whole face lit up when he saw it, so I know I did good.

Ended up having a candid discussion about being gay during class break. It still kinda throws me sometimes how peoples knowledge can just be sterotypes and how much they really don't know.

Anyway I'm going to bed cause I've had one of those days that was just one of those emotional rollercoasters and quiet honestly it was exhausting.
