There's this kid at work. He mostly does mantience, but really still learning. I needed a side rail fixed so I could put a resident to bed. He fiddled in the room a moment, came out and told me it was fixed. I put the resident in bed and yeah the thing was still broke, came off in the middle of the night and she almost feel out of bed several times. Came in the next day and thankfully the one guy I know who can fix things was there. He looked at it and basically said he didn't know why this kid would've said he could fix it because it was a repair job for the company that made the siderail, cause it was very broke. Basically it would've taken a miricle for this kid to have fixed this siderail. I started calling him Scotty right after that. He responds to this even though it's not his name.

One of his friends also works there and one day he was trying to describe his personality to a cook we had for awhile. I finally just rolled my eyes at him and said, "So basically your Chekov." The nickname stuck.

I have another co-worker that has a bit of a long first name and since she doesn't want to stress the residents out she often tells them to call her "K" and well once I explained it was a Power Rangers thing she's let me call her Dr. K. She used to be into PR and we're hoping to get together over spring break so I can show her some of the new stuff.
