The one who seduced you, screwed you over, broke your heart in a million pieces, and laughed about it:
Harry Potter. Love love love…but I was just a little budding writer when I fell into this fandom and the fans in this fandom…not so nice. It scares me enough that while I contemplate dipping my toes back in the water and finishing those WIP’s I very rarely even touch it with drabbles.
The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp:
X-men. I wasn’t allowed comics as a child because I was a girl, but there was XTRAS and an early crush on Jubilee (also an early crush on Dick Grayson and the one and only comic I sneaked featured him, but I digress)…and then I hit 18. Jubes was a must and with that came Generation X and a love for Jono. Then I checked out X-men and there was Northstar. I was just starting to come out when I found Northstar and I fell so very hard. To this day Alpha Flight is my favoritest thing ever. Bobby/Jean-Paul will always have a special place in my heart. Don’t get me started on First Class.
The mysterious dark one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3 AM at weird coffee houses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized s/he really was fucking crazy:
Queer as Folk. UK/US doesn’t matter loved it. Except it’s the fandom that made me fear boards and shipper wars. It’s also the only fandom where I’ve had another fan treat me like crap when they realized I was gay.
The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor and whom you'd still really like to get with again, although you're relieved s/he doesn't actually live in town:
Torchwood. The canon breaks my heart and makes me want to strangle Gwen, while writing gratuitous amounts of fic about Tosh, Ianto and Jack and deep dark get in his head about Owen. It also makes me want to drown in Doctor Who and I love SJA.
The steady:
Power Rangers. Got into it for a girlfriend and now am entrenched in it. This fandom never fails to make me feel loved and never fails to bring a smile to my face.
The alluring stranger whom you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with:
Stargate. I’ve nearly seen all seasons for each series except Universe and I do the J/D ficathon every year. I want to write more for it. I want to love this fandom hard…and I just haven’t.
The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with, but ultimately you're just good buddies:
Supernatural. I’m moving my way slowly through it. I have so much fic started and so many ideas. Don’t get me started on Gabriel because if I sit down with bunnies I will be a greedy thing. So far though there is this distance.
The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool person except it's never really gone anywhere:
Transformers. *sobs* I even have a ship, but haven’t written anything.
The one who's slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at them and thinking, "How the hell did they land all these cool people?"
Twilight. I have one fic and the start of a second but I really would enjoy the books more if I could just kill off half the characters and squish the ones that made me want to finish reading.
The one who gave you the best damned summer of your life and against whom you measure all other potential partners:
Buffy. I didn’t start watching till S4. I was still in high school and was into Roswell. A friend and I agreed to try each other’s shows. I fell head over heels for Buffy and she didn’t like Roswell. My love for this fandom is deep seated and if there is a way to cross something over with it, well it’s gonna happen.
The one you recently met at a party and would like to get to know better:
Earth 2 and The Big Bang Theory.
Earth 2 I had the box set, remembered watching as a child and being a bit freaked out by, but I signed up for an exchange and it was one of the fandoms requested. I decided to give it a try and fell hard and fast. I wrote two fics for the exchange and stared a crossover. I want more, but haven’t gotten there yet.
The Big Bang Theory is one my grandma watches religiously and so occasionally I would sit down and watch with her. I ended up buying and have seen up through S2. I want more, but there never seems to be any time.
The old flame that you wouldn't totally object to hooking up with again for a one night romp if only they'd clean up a bit:
Glee. I’ve only been into it since last November, but it feels comfortable now, except for the whole not so sure I want to see S3. I love Kurt’s relationship with Burt and several of the other characters, but I don’t trust it not to break my heart.
Your hot new flame:
High School Musical. I’m delaying watching the last movie because omg I’m still kinda in love with the second one and I’m kinda afraid the love will die a swift death.
The one who stole your significant other:
Bones. I want it, but I was spoiled for what happens to Zack in S3 and just can’t.
