I don't normally end up with book hangover, but...

I just finished the Shadowshaper Cypher series by Daniel Jose Older. It was three books and two novellas. I listened to all of them on audiobook from the library, though I ordered the last book in the series before I even finished it. I do eventually want to buy all the books and thankfully it looks like a local bookstore has them available to order online. I looked on AO3, but it doesn't appear that there's any fanfic, which is kinda disappointing. It was a good ending, a hopeful ending, but fanfic is always good to have too! I really enjoyed all the pairings. There was a background pairing that I started shipping in the first book and watching it just kinda be there in the background, but you know what's happening when the other main characters figure that it was pretty satisfying. I liked the way it delved into legacy and the supernatural, while juggling a semi-large cast of characters and giving each of them a chance to shine. I also liked how much humor there was, despite the serious circumstances amid the social commentary. I also love books with amazing queer characters. As much as I loved the series and as satisfying as the ending is I was sad when I finished. Usually I have several books going at once and that helps me stave off that book hangover feeling...but not with this series, it was that good.
