Katie was a no call no show last night. It's her second time. The first time we'd thought she'd quit because a resident had smacked her in the face. She said she had family problems and took a few days off. She was supposed to come back last night and the woman who's our manager at the moment because our usual manager is on maternaity leave made sure that she had her pager number if she needed to call off. She didn't call off. She didn't show up. So I ended up working by myself once again. I'll probably be the only one tonight too. It's fustrating to watch people come in and start making connections with the residents and then just leave. At least Katrina who moved out of state made sure we knew how to reach her so she could be called so she could talk to the residents over the phone. Most people though, they just leave and I understand it's a job, but it just feels rude to me somehow.
