Title: An Unexpected Family
Pairings: Andros/Jason, Past Andros/OMC (Lori), Past Jason/Emily, Zhane/Karone, Billy/Rocky, Kim/Kat, hint at Tommy/Hayley…
Rating: R
Summery: Sequel to ‘Everyone Accounted For.’ When an old acquaintance threatens to take Andros’ morpher from him, it leads to a series of events that leaves several ranger teams battling new and darker enemies.
Disclaimer: I own nothing to do with Power Rangers. It's not my toy box, I'm merely playing.
Warning: There is slash, femslash and het in this story. Don’t like any of that, don’t read it. Also Mpreg (Andros) and Trip being from the past.
A/N: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] pockythoughts for letting me spaz at her when this was being difficult. Also thanks to everyone else who contributed when Karone was giving me issues about what morpher she was going to get.

Chapter 7:

Andros winced as the light over his bed came on and DECA informed him that they’d arrived at KO-35. His fingers curled into Jason’s shirt as he woke. He stared at the other man silently a moment, not sure if DECA’s standard waking procedure had actually woken Jason up. He glanced down, grimacing as he realized he’d fallen asleep in his uniform.

How had he gotten to bed last night?

He’d been working on his report regarding Lothor…he hadn’t finished his report!

“DECA, did you save my work last night?” Andros asked.

“It was saved, though I checked the spelling and deleted the parts you accidently wrote when you were asleep.”

“I wrote when I was asleep?”

“I didn’t believe a letter repeating itself several times would assist your cause in getting permission to send the team after Lothor.”

Andros smiled slightly, “You’re probably right.”

He sat up carefully, trying not to disturb Jason. When he glanced down again it was to see Jason blinking at him sleepily.

“I need to get up,” Andros informed Jason. If he could get Jason out of bed than getting up himself would be easier.

“I have some questions,” Jason told him.

Andros frowned, “So do I.”

Then Jason’s hands were sliding up his arms, easing him back down. Andros allowed it for the moment, he’d protest and reiterate his need to get up in a moment. He just wanted to lay still next to Jason for a little longer. Jason began to run a hand through his hair and Andros’ eyes half closed in appreciation. Andros smiled; he wanted to stay like this.

“How’d I get to bed last night?” Andros asked, pulling the covers back over them.

“I helped,” Jason answered simply, before he asked, “You trained on Earth?”

Andros blinked. Had he revealed that? How half asleep had he been?

Andros wet his lips, “Yes. Astro rangers are to receive formal training before they receive their morpher. I had left KO-35 before I could begin classes, therefore it was sanctioned that I would train under Zordon. Why did you stay?”

“You wouldn’t let me leave,” Jason smiled. Andros tilted his head, that smile made him want to kiss Jason.

“The ships too quiet,” Andros commented instead.

“You said that last night,” Jason told him, then asked, “Did you and Trip really watch my class?”

Andros froze, his eyes widened. He sat up, looking down at Jason, “What did…I told you about Trip?”

“No,” Jason said, “you only mentioned him.”

Andros took a breath and wet his lips, “Never use Trip. Xybrians have a family name that is only used by family and friends. They also have a public name. His name is Regis. Prince Regis actually.”

“Hey,” Jason pointed out as he sat up, “you were really out of it and I probably won’t ever meet him. It was just a question.”

Andros nodded, accepting what Jason said, but not sure what to say next. He frowned as Jason reached up to trace his jaw. They were entirely too close. He felt entirely too comfortable lying in bed with Jason, he wanted more.

Andros closed his eyes a moment as Jason’s thumb found his lips. He had to stop, Had to get Jason to move away! Andros opened his eyes and pulled back, “You should hate me. I killed your mentor.”

Jason stilled, but didn’t pull away. He wet his lips, “He said that it had to be a friend who killed him or the consequences wouldn’t have been the same. The villains he turned good, wouldn’t have that.”

Andros frowned, “When did he tell you this?”

“I thought it was just a dream,” Jason attempted to explain, “but it wasn’t and he doesn’t want you to blame yourself.”

“I need to get up,” Andros managed, voice harsh. He wasn’t ready to accept what Jason had just told him.

Jason nodded, moving out of the bed so Andros didn’t have to crawl over him. He sat silently on the bed as he watched Andros grab a clean uniform. Andros frowned at him a moment.

“I’m not trying to upset you,” Jason told him.

“After I’ve had a shower, I’m going to want to make my bed,” Andros told him before he stepped into his bathroom.

“You have your own bathroom?” Jason asked.

Andros peeked around the door, “Rangers get their own bathroom adjacent to their room. It was part of the new design to this ship.”

Jason frowned as Andros shut the bathroom door. Jason ran a hand through his hair and glanced over when the bathroom door opened again. Andros stood there, looking uncertain as he asked, “You’re not going to let me push you away, are you?”

Jason grinned, “Not gonna happen.”

Andros nodded and the door clicked shut again.

Shaking his head, Jason went to go clean up his dinner from the night before and get a shower.

“Andros, your body requires that you…”

“I’m trying to finish proofreading this report,” Andros cut DECA off.

Jason leaned in the doorway, wanting breakfast himself, but also not quite sure what to make of the glare Andros was giving one of DECA’s eyes.

“You’ve not had a full meal since you returned,” DECA countered.

“It doesn’t taste right,” Andros complained as he poked at his eggs with his fork.

“Didn’t taste too bad to me last night,” Jason told him, “try putting something on them.”

Andros glanced at him, but then went back to his report, as he dropped the fork on the plate. Jason took a seat across from him, grabbed the fork and took a bite of eggs.

Andros peeked at him, then pushed the plate towards him.

“That is not advisable,” DECA piped in.

“I took the vitamins you gave me,” Andros grumbled, “I’ll eat something on the surface.”

“Folic acid is very important,” DECA told him.

“It’s huge, you can’t tell me that it’s only folic acid,” Andros told her.

“Did you want me to list all the supplements in them?” DECA asked.

“No,” Andros decided, “Thank you.”

“I think she won,” Jason put in, “Also the eggs aren’t bad.”

Andros shrugged and tapped the data pad in his hand, “I’m going to go transfer this to a data file.”

“When are you going to the surface?” Jason asked.

“As soon as I have the report transferred,” Andros replied.

Jason frowned, “Why not just go after Lothor?”

“If he was attacking, it wouldn’t be an issue,” Andros said, “Never escalate a battle. Right now he’s just amassing an army so we can’t take him out preemptively. If I can get a government involved, they might be able to find out what he wants and stop him before he starts attacking. Or if we could get a clearer picture of when he was going to attack a ranger team could take him out.”

Jason nodded his understanding, relieved for the moment that Andros hadn’t said he was going after Lothor himself. Still, Jason pointed out, “You shouldn’t go to the surface by yourself.”

“Why not?”

Jason frowned at the defensive tone, “If Fren is after you and he figures out you’re here then you should have back-up.”

Andros nodded, “Can you morph?”

“Part of those consequences that would’ve changed if it wasn’t you,” Jason said gravely, “I got my powers back.”

~~~~~*****~~~~~
Jason took a sip of the fruit drink Andros had ordered him, watching as Andros finished his plate of food. While he didn’t like spending any more time on KO-35 than necessary, considering that they might run into Fren, it was good to see Andros actually eat a full plate of food after DECA’s concern.
“You were hungry,” Jason commented.
Andros shrugged, picking up a reddish-purple round fruit, the last thing on his plate, “I’ve never like synthesized food. It’s become worse since…”
Andros trailed off and frowned, biting into the fruit.
“You can’t really say it, can you?” Jason asked.
“It’s weird,” Andros offered.
“I’m not sure I’d be able to say it either, if I was the one who was pregnant,” Jason admitted before he asked, “Did you want kids before this?”
Andros stared at his fruit for a moment before he said, barely audible, “Lori did. I hadn’t decided yet.”
Jason stared, feeling almost suddenly chilled.
Andros tilted his head, took another bite of his fruit and frowned.
“Was he yellow?” Jason asked slowly, “Nice smile with curly brown hair?”
Andros’ frown deepened, “Did Zhane show you a picture?”
“No,” Jason said. How did he explain?
“Explain.”
“One of those not quite dreams I’ve had,” Jason said.
Andros set the rest of his fruit on the plate and sat back in his chair with a frown. He glanced off to the side, taking in the people walking.
“I don’t understand,” Andros said, voice distant.
Jason reached across the table and took Andros’ hand, “I don’t really either, but twice now I thought I was dreaming, but circumstances are making me believe they weren’t dreams.”
“With Zordon and Lori?” Andros asked.
“Yes,” Jason answered, “but not together.”
“What did he say?”
“Which one?” Jason asked in an attempt to clarify.
Andros frowned, eyes distant again for a moment before he answered, “Lori.”
Jason thought back on the brief encounter before he said slowly, “Understanding is good, laughter is better. Hugs are needed and kisses are irreplaceable.
Andros nodded, a small smile playing at his lips, “That sounds like him.”
“We talked about greetings as well,” Jason added.
“Greetings?”
“He said I should ask you how Xybrian’s greet,” Jason said.
Andros shook his head, smiling again, “He would think that would help. Did you want children?”
“I have for awhile.”
Andros nodded, “I’m going to pay, then one more thing, and we’ll head back.”
