Summary: Cody and Obi-Wan exchange a goodbye before Cody goes on a mission.
A Goodbye:
Cody thinks they’ve already said goodbye when Obi-Wan’s hands close around his helmet. He lets Obi-Wan take his helmet and press close.
“Just be careful,” Obi-Wan says.
Cody cups his cheek and gives him one more kiss.
“Be safe,” Obi-Wan reiterates.
Cody sighs, resting his forehead against Obi-Wan’s. “It’s not safe, but I’ll be careful.”
Cody feels Obi-Wan clip his lightsaber onto his belt. “You might need that, you know?”
“And you’ll return it when you get back,” Obi-Wan says as he slips Cody’s helmet on. Obi-Wan kisses his fingers, then presses them against Cody’s helmet.
“I will,” Cody agrees.
