Waking:
Cody wakes up with questions. The air is arid and he can hear someone, no Gregor, laughing. The movement of the walker is soothing, even if he’s never considered turning a walker into a home before.
“Try to remember that was years ago,” Rex is telling someone, voice soothing.
Cody lets himself drift back to sleep. Maybe he’ll wake up clearer. He half wakes up when Rex joins him in the bed. Cody kisses his forehead.
Rex sighs. “Wolffe is having a bad day, but he’s calmed down and he’s making lunch. Are you hungry?”
“Tired,” Cody protests snuggling close.
