Reassurance:
There’s a cadence that her people modified when they were still trying to decide who they were if they weren’t Stormtroopers for the First Order anymore. I won’t mourn what used to be mine. They don’t know the lives they were stolen from, but they’re strong enough to make new ones.
The Resistance has a large biographical database of missing kids. Jannah can only stare as a computer begins listing their answers.
Shaky she manages to find Rose, who leads her to a quiet office. She clings. “I just need a moment before I tell them.”
“I’m here,” Rose reassures.
