Fandom: Star Wars/Gokaiger

Summary: Obi-Wan and Luka are playing poker.
A/N: Because [personal profile] thesecondbatgirl asked me who would win at poker Obi-Wan or Luka.

Stakes:

Obi-Wan peers over the top of his cards at Luka. She’s smirking. He can’t tell if she’s smirking because of her hand or if she’s bluffing. After four games he should know. He’s taught her sabbac and she’s taught him poker. They’ve each won one round of both games. This game is the tie breaker. This game decides the fate of the supplies the Republic is trying to send to Haileap. First Hondo had stolen the supplies, but then the Gokaigers had stolen the supplies from Hondo. Obi-Wan is trying to win them back. Luka is trying to keep them for her crew. Unfortunately, they’re evenly matched. If the supplies weren’t at stake Obi-Wan suspects he would be having fun.

Still, he’s confident his two pairs will win the day. Maybe. Hopefully.

There’s a yell. Ahsoka! Obi-Wan drops his cards and runs towards where he can hear her yelling again. The ship is parked near the ledge of a cliff and he runs off onto the flat mountain top, then stops and stares. Ahsoka and Joe are sparing. They’re using two cutlasses each. Joe is a challenge for her. He’s keeping up with her attacks, parrying while offering suggestions. Obi-Wan smiles as he watches Ahsoka learn from someone who is obviously skilled in swordplay. For a moment he wishes he could watch and learn too, but there’s a game to finish…and Luka, self-proclaimed pirate that she is, has probably already looked at his cards.

As he turns to head back into the ship Luka joins him. She’s shuffling the deck.

“Who won?” he asks.

She raises her eyebrows, then looks past him. “Marvelous?”

“Captain Rex and I have reached an agreement,” Marvelous answers.

“It’s generous,” Ahim chimes in.

“Is it?” Obi-Wan inquires, letting himself hope.

“We give half,” Marvelous says slowly.

“Two-thirds,” Rex insists.

“Two-thirds,” Marvelous corrects in a way that says he’s enjoying Rex’s correction. “And we get the contract for the supply run out of Haileap.”

Luka makes a sound of appreciation, likely because of the money they’re about to make from the contract. Even with just one supply run the compensation from Alderaan will be generous since the supplies being picked up there are meant to go to several worlds still recovering from recently rescued from the Seperatists.

“That seems like a plan,” Obi-Wan agrees. The Gokaigers get to keep some of the fuel and ship parts, but Haileap gets most of their needed supplies. Then the Gokaigers makes money from delivery food to starving people. “I’m sure Senator Organa will agrees, but we may need to talk to Haileaps leadership first.”

“Let’s have tea and then comm them,” Ahim suggests.

Obi-Wan smiles. “That would be lovely, thank you.”

Luka shuffles the desk once more and then hides it in her jacket. Obi-Wan considers asking who won the last round, but he really doesn’t need to know.

“Marvelous?” Luka prompts. “Tea?”

Marvelous leans in closer to Rex. “Another time. See if Ahsoka wants some. Then Joe can help me seduce the Captain.”

Rex flushes, but there’s a smile on his lips as he accepts Marvelous’ weight against him.

“We should,” Joe agrees.

Ahim loops an arm around his and Obi-Wan lets her leads him away. She directs him towards a couch and then steps away to get the tea.

He’s just getting comfortable when Ahsoka bounds into the room enthusiastically.

“Are you going to spar with Joe later?” he asks.

Ahsoka nods. “He’s a great teacher.”

A door opens and Anakin calls out. “Who’s a great teacher?”

“Joe,” Ahsoka yells back.

“Would you like some tea?” Obi-Wan asks Anakin.

“Don and I aren’t done repairing this console,” Anakin informs him.

“Those two are probably covered in grease,” Luka decides as she sits. “They’d get Ahim’s cups dirty.”

“I didn’t think of that,” Ahsoka sighs as she sits down between them.

Obi-Wan wraps a comforting arm around her. “I’m sorry your sparring session was cut short.”

Ahsoka shrugs. “Rex deserves a date and besides we got most of the supplies back!”

“We did,” Obi-Wan agrees. For the first time since the supplies went missing he feels himself relax.
