Zeb finds Alex perched in the copilot seat of the Ghost reading reports. Zeb yawns. He almost asks if Alex knows what time it is, but Alex looks vulnerable as he glances back.
“Nightmare?” Zeb asks.
Alex sighs and shuts off the datapad he’s using.
Zeb tilts his head and shifts closer so he can reach out and run his fingers through Alex’s hair. Alex leans into his touch.
“Could’ve woke me up,” Zeb points out.
“You had a long day.”
Zeb leans in, kissing Alex’s forehead, enjoying the way it makes Alex relax.
“I’d have made time for you.”
