Summary: Tommy buys Buck two fidget rings.
A/N: For the BuckTommy week prompt pride.
Fidget:
Buck is smelling candles at the booth in front of them when Tommy let’s go of his hand to touch his back and step away to look at something that’s caught his interest. Buck isn’t sure he wants a candle, but these have such a strong scent he wouldn’t need to burn them, just take the lid off the jar.
“Evan, let me see your hand?” Tommy says.
Buck sets the candle he’s holding down, smiles at the man running the booth, then shifts so he can see what booth Tommy is at. He crosses the aisle to that booth and asks, “Which hand?”
“Right.”
Buck nods and holds out his right hand. Tommy’s been holding his left all day.
Tommy laughs slightly, then shakes his head, before holding out the bags they’ve got their purchases in. “Takes these first, then let me see your hand.”
Buck grins back at him, takes the bags, then holds out his empty right hand. Tommy takes it and lifts it up to look at his fingers before he reaches down to take a ring from the display. They’re different pride flag rings. The one Tommy slides onto his first finger is the pride flag, but it’s too small. Tommy swaps it out for a larger on, but that’s too big, so he tries the next size down and smiles as it fits. Buck considers pointing out that he doesn’t wear rings often and most of the pride items they’ve bought today have been the bisexual flag. Tommy takes the ring off, then shifts so he can pick up the ring with the bisexual flag on it. He makes sure it fits on Buck’s finger before he hands the ring to the booth owner, then points at Buck’s finger. “These two.”
Then he grins at Buck and spins the ring. Buck’s eyes widen. “It’s a fidget!”
He’s been saying he’s thinking of trying a fidget ring for a few days, but hadn’t settled on a pattern or even figured out his ring size yet. Buck tries spinning the ring with his thumb and grins as it spins, but doesn’t make a lot of noise.
“See any other patterns you like?” Tommy asks.
Buck shakes his head. “No, these are great.”
For a moment he thinks Tommy is going to point out that he didn’t look, but most of the designs are different pride flags and Tommy already picked out the two he’d want. Tommy pays, then takes the small paper bag with the ring Buck isn’t wearing and adds it to one of their larger bags. He takes the bags back, then takes Buck’s hand.
“Do you want to look around more or figure out lunch?” Tommy asks.
“Lunch sounds good,” Buck puts in. “Thank you.”
Tommy squeezes his hand, then leans in and presses a kiss against his jaw. “Couldn’t resist when I saw them.”
