My weekend felt like it wouldn't end. Most of it was good, some of it was just drawn out. Went and saw Narnia with James on Friday after work. We went with some of his coworkers, had a drink and some food first. It was really good.
Graduation took 2 hrs, but wasn't bad. It was in doors. We had to line up by row and seat number. I ended up being the person to get my row organized. Senator Sherrod Brown was our guest speaker. I met him once when I was still in high school, he's a nice guy and his speech was nice and short. He also quoted my all time favorite quote. Which made me happy. I expected to feel a lot more crowded, especially since it had to be indoors due to rain, but it was actually rather pleasant.
Afterwards with my family was fun. The food was good, the hanging out was good. It was a bit odd to get both birthday cards and a grad card from some people. I kept going 'why am I getting two cards from one person?', but then they reminded me it was a combined party and I felt stupid and went 'oh, yeah'. My cousin Missy who lives in PA came, it was so good to see her...she also cut her hair, it's cute. James showed up (he burned me a copy of the new Cyndi Lauper CD...*grins*) and we hung out then went to my house and watched Latter Days.
Sunday we were very short handed at work and I scrambled for basically 12 hours and in my 11th hour they asked me to stay later because my replacement had called and said she wasn't showing up till 10pm...I'm suppose to get off at 7. I was frustrated because I'd somehow managed to get a burst of energy over the thought that I was in my last hour and I'd get to home soon. It'd been a very stressful day, which I won't go into, but needless to stay I was quite stressed out by the time my coworker came up to me and was all 'hey can you stay till 8/9, our manager (who still hadn't come in yet) will talk to the office and make your overtimes okay, and we'll give you a trainee.' I was not pleased and did something I shouldn't. I basically explained that I wouldn't be getting overtime, that any hours I did pick up I wouldn't get paid for because I work three 12's in a row on weekends they bump my 36 hrs up to 40 hrs. Hence those four hours I have to work to get overtime I techincally am not making any more money than I'd already be making. I didn't draw it out like that, but I'm sure she could tell I was frustrated. I did agree to stay till 8. Thankfully one of the other aides (who I love working with) was in my hall to help me and we managed to get all the heavier people in bed. And I was really grateful when our manager showed up and told me to not worry about staying and I could go home. Technically I only worked 17 hrs this weekend...but Sunday is the start of the pay week so it'll go with a 36 hrs weekend, but it felt like I'd worked all weekend with how long and how stressful the day had been. Now I'm just hoping that I didn't make a situation by telling my coworker that, but I don't think I did because she isn't the type to run her mouth.
Meh.
Today I stayed in bed till after 12...I woke up earlier, but refused to get up. I did some plotting for stories and some reading. Then I went to the bank. That lovely check the goverment is sending most people arrived and I used to to pay off a credit card so one less bill for me! Then I crashed on the couch in the basement and watched Juno. I liked it more than I thought I would. Tomorrow I'm determined to get up and actually go to the gym. I need to get back into a routine and do some cleaning while I'm on break. I still have to fill out my FASFA, get my books for summer semester together and set up my student loan for the fall so I'm sure I'll be busy. Hopefully I'll hang out with my friends a bit. Erica and I are supposed to get together this week to go over a story we're working on together. James and I are suppose to get together on Thurs to go shopping. Should be a busy week, but fun.
