I called work to clear up the mistake from last night. Apparently I was wrong for not going in last night. Apparently I should have dropped everything and gone into work.
I sat down with the scheduler before she went on vacation and picked up two days on top of my regular schedule. I did say I was willing to work on Mon and Wed 2-11 and Tues 6-11, but that she needed to ask me first, not just put me on the schedule. The person who is doing her job said that she doesn't have time to let us know when she changes our schedule. I have a set schedule of 12 hour shifts every Fri-Sun. I had agreed to pick up Wed the 1 of July. The scheduler said she really needed me that day so I said okay and put it into my date book. She watched me put it in my date book. Apparently she got enough people, didn't need me and switched me to Monday, without asking me first. If she had brought it up I would've said I couldn't come in Monday. Also Mon and Wed go on two completely different paychecks! So I'm likely going to get into trouble for not going in last night. I will likely get a point that I have to make up by coming into work. I also don't get to come in on Wed when I was hoping to have that extra time on my paycheck since I have a weekend off for my cousin's wedding in that pay period.
So they weren't wrong because I was on the schedule for last night. I'm not wrong because that isn't the schedule I discussed with the scheduler. This is why I dislike working healthcare. They don't care about you and your health, they just want to fill in their schedule. My mom warned me about this when I decided to study to become a nurse. I just didn't realize how frustrating this would be.
