Title: An Unexpected Family
Pairings: Andros/Jason, Past Andros/OMC (Lori), Past Jason/Emily, Zhane/Karone, Billy/Rocky, Kim/Kat, hint at Tommy/Hayley…
Rating: R
Summery: Sequel to ‘Everyone Accounted For.’ When an old acquaintance threatens to take Andros’ morpher from him, it leads to a series of events that leaves several ranger teams battling new and darker enemies.
Disclaimer: I own nothing to do with Power Rangers. It's not my toy box, I'm merely playing.
Warning: There is slash, femslash and het in this story. Don’t like any of that, don’t read it. Also Mpreg (Andros) and Trip being from the past.
A/N: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] pockythoughts for letting me spaz at her when this was being difficult. Also thanks to everyone else who contributed when Karone was giving me issues about what morpher she was going to get.

Chapter 6:

Jason poked at the food in front of him. It looked like eggs, it almost tasted like eggs, but he just couldn’t bring himself to eat it. So much for the ‘it’s about breakfast time’ idea he told himself. He set his fork down and wondered what Andros was doing. So far Andros had managed to avoid him, which Jason supposed in a ship this size wasn’t very difficult. Of course it had only been about two hours since Andros had gotten back, they had to run into each other sooner or later, didn’t they? Andros was interested in him, if the looks on the other ranger’s face were any indication and yet how did he get Andros to admit that?

“Jason,” DECA asked, “am I interrupting?”

“No,” Jason told her, “I guess I’m just not very hungry.”

“Perhaps you could assist Andros to bed then,” DECA suggested.

“Bed?” Jason asked.

“He’s fallen asleep while working,” DECA informed him.

When Jason got to the bridge he found Andros sitting at a consol, half sprawled over it asleep.

“DECA,” Jason asked, “what happens if he presses some of the buttons in his sleep?”

“I shut the consol down when it became apparent he was no longer working,” DECA answered.
Jason glanced at one of the many ‘eyes’ she had around the ship, tempted to ask if she was used to Andros falling asleep in random places. Instead he moved over and touched Andros’ shoulder. Andros turned away from him.

“Andros,” Jason tried, “you need to wake up and head to bed.”

Andros swatted at him, missing when Jason jumped back. Jason ran a slightly frustrated hand through his hair as he watched Andros bury his head in his arms. Jason crossed his arms, taking in the exhausted man before him and then glancing towards the door thinking about how best to get to the room that Zhane had pointed out as belonging to Andros.

“Alright, you’re not going to like this when you wake up, but you can’t stay here,” Jason told the sleeping ranger. He reached over and ran a soothing hand over Andros’ arm to his hand. He lifted Andros hand and put it around his neck. Andros slumped against him. Jason glanced at him, breath held for a moment, wondering if he’d be swatted at again. Andros mumbled something too low for Jason to catch and then shifted in a bit closer. Jason breathed a sigh of relief as he moved Andros’ other hand around him. He slide one of his hands around Andros’ back and the other under his knees.

Jason took a deep breath, reminded himself to lift with his legs and hefted Andros slowly out of the chair. Andros shifted in closer again and Jason looked down at the man sleeping against him with a frown, “Guess this will work as long as you agree not to wake up and get angry about it.”

Andros didn’t comment except to turn his head into Jason, just that bit more. Jason kept his thoughts to himself, not actually wanting to wake Andros as he made his way to the correct megadeck. He’d almost made it to Andros’ room when Andros shifted again and asked against his neck, “What are you doing?”

Jason shuddered slightly at the feel of Andros’ breath against his neck and answered, “Taking you to bed.”

“Oh,” Andros said, then protested, “I didn’t finish my report on Lothor.”

“You can finish it after you get a good night rest,” Jason told him.

“Oh,” Andros agreed before his breath evened out again.

Jason smiled, relieved that Andros hadn’t woken up enough to actually protest. He turned towards Andros’ room and found that DECA had the door open before he could even ask.

“Thanks DECA,” Jason said.

“It was safer for both you and Andros if the door was already open for you,” DECA told him.

Jason shook his head, smiling at DECA’s words before he frowned at the bed. How was he supposed to get Andros onto it without banging his own head? Who designed these things?

Jason turned his head, “Andros.”

“Sleeping,” Andros told him.

“Yes, but it’s time to get into bed now,” Jason responded.

“I’m comfortable here,” Andros protested.

Jason smiled and pressed his lips together, “You’d be more comfortable in bed.”

Andros arms tightened around him, “But then you’ll leave.”

Jason closed his eyes and breathed the other man in slowly. He opened his eyes and gave into his want to kiss Andros’ forehead before he told him, “I’ll stay.”

“That could work,” Andros replied.

Jason frowned at the bed again, trying to best figure out how he wanted to lower Andros onto it. Just setting Andros on his feet, sitting down or attempting to bend down and put him in the bed? Jason glanced down at Andros again and smiled. Sitting, he was definitely sitting. Taking things slowly and carefully he ended up with both of them on the bed with Andros in his lap. Andros blinked lazily at him, looking confused.

“Sleep,” he reminded Andros.

“Report,” Andros protested.

“We already agreed you’d finish that after you’d gotten some sleep,” Jason reminded.

“Oh,” Andros said before his eyes threatened to shut again.

“Hey,” Jason said, running a hand over his back, “You should probably get your jacket and shoes off before you fall asleep again.”

Andros nodded as his head slumped against Jason’s chest, then he asked, “Are you leaving?”

Jason laughed and ran a hand over Andros’ cheek, “You are way too out of it to even be thinking about a report.”

“No, I’m not,” Andros protested his fingers curling tightly against Jason’s neck, “The ships too quiet, I don’t like it.”

“I’m not going anywhere,” Jason reminded.

Andros nodded, moving to the bed to remove his jacket. He laid it in his lap and as he reached to unlatch his boots he started to pitch forward.

“When was the last time you slept?” Jason asked as he caught Andros and pushed him onto his back.

“Reyne took longer than we’d estimated to get away from Lothor without raising suspicions,” Andros explained eyes half closed.

“Who’s Lothor?” Jason asked as he undid Andros’ boots, then laid Andros’ jacket on top of them.

“Space Ninja,” Andros answered as he crawled under his covers.

“Space Ninja?” Jason asked as he removed his own shoes.

“Evil Space Ninja,” Andros clarified as he closed his eyes.

Jason decided not to ask again as he contemplated how the two of them were going to fit on one of these beds. He glanced over at Andros who was frowning and reaching a hand out towards him, eyes still closed. Jason took his hand and then slide under the covers, surprised at how easily Andros’ curled around him. Jason wrapped an arm around Andros, reaching up run a hand through his hair.

Andros’ grip on him tightened and Jason frowned, stopped moving his hand as he asked, “Are you okay?”

“That feels really good.”

Jason smiled and started running his hand through Andros’ hair again as he closed his own eyes and hoped he’d be able to fall asleep.

“This is not going to work,” Andros told him voice heavy with sleep.

Jason’s eyes opened and he glanced down, “What’s not going to work?”

“Two reds,” Andros told him.

“Seems to be working right now,” Jason pointed out.

“I don’t get what I want,” Andros said.

Jason closed his eyes tightly. Why did Andros have to be half asleep right now? The urge to wake him up, talk to him, kiss him and reassure him that they would find a way to make this work was strong.

“We barely know one another,” Jason pointed out, suddenly realizing that as much as he wanted Andros, had wanted to find his way into a relationship with this man, they didn’t really know much about one another.

Andros threw a leg over his, was almost half on top of him. He tilted his head and told Jason, “You’re a good leader. You care for your friends, your teammates. You knew most of them your whole life and you were an excellent teacher, not many are that encouraging.”

Jason wet his lips. How did Andros know these things? How had he formed these opinions?

“Tommy tell you these things?” he guessed.

“Zordon made us watch your class,” Andros explained.

“Us?” Jason asked.

“Trip and me,” Andros replied.

“You and this Trip knew Zordon?” Jason asked. Zordon had said he and Andros had been friends, was it possible that hadn’t been a dream?

“We trained on Earth together before I accepted my Astro morpher,” Andros told him.

Jason’s breath caught. How long had Andros been attracted to him? Wait…

“You were living at the Command Center when I was a ranger?” Jason asked.

Andros didn’t answer for a moment and Jason worried he’d fallen asleep.

“Andros?” Jason prompted.

“Hmm?” Andros asked.

“Were you living at the Command Center when I was a ranger?”

“Yes,” Andros told him.

Jason blinked up at the top of the bed, not quite sure how he felt about that.

“Jason?”

“Yes?”

“Your hand stopped moving,” Andros pointed out.

“Sorry,” Jason smiled as he began running his hand through Andros’ hair again.

“I’m going to sleep now,” Andros told him.

“Good,” Jason told him, unable to keep from smiling.

They could figure things out in the morning, Jason decided as he closed his eyes.
