So let’s get this out of the way; the one part of the weekend that wasn’t wonderful. During the interview part of the wonderful day of fandom fun NPS decided to start with a recap of that day’s episode of Samurai. They hemmed, they hawed (yes, I grew up on a farm I can used the word hawed). They tried to compare it to the Shinkenger episode it was derived from, but concluded that all they could say they knew about it was that it was supposed to be sparkly because they had only seen the preview. Then they concluded that it didn’t matter because Samurai sucked anyway and they’d given up on it. I admit I was kinda horrified. I hadn’t paid and traveled to sit there and listen to them tear down a show I happen to enjoy. I hadn’t paid and traveled to sit there and feel like I couldn’t say anything to contradict them because they were taping. So dear NPS I’m sorry that you don’t like Samurai and I’m sorry that you didn’t get to see the episode. The wonderful group of fandom friends I found, after racing back to my hotel room, got to see half of it. I’m so sorry that you missed the sparkle or that you can’t understand why the sparkle is wonderful. I’m sorry that you can’t enjoy the Jayden's angst, Mike’s goofiness, Mia’s concern for her team, Kevin’s by the book blue while being a tech or Emily’s sweetness. I’m also really sorry that you missed Antonio’s entrance because he may just be the bouncest thing that ever bounced…and that’s saying something because we have Cole and I love my Jubilee. We didn’t get to enjoy any Cole/Dekker or random Bulk and Spike, but that is amazing when it happens! Also I’m sorry you missed the slash because this is one of those episodes that slash pairings are based off of and it was beautiful.

Okay, now onto the fun stuff:

Friday was a travel day so it was early morning to the airport, get there and sit around. I ran into one of my former nursing instructors and we talked for a moment, turned out she was getting on the same flight. Got to the hotel and it was too early to check in so I went and hunted down some food…some overly expensive food, but there was food. Thankfully the hotel lobby had free wi-fi and managed to kill time talking to pockysquirrel and joyful. Also the one sentence meme in the glee_cross_meme helped to keep me busy too. When I finally got my room I realized that though the wi-fi was free in the lobby it cost money in the room, so I tried to do some homework while I waited for Pocky. Then there was catching up, food and using her Turbo Navigator (what we called her phone) to find out where the registration was so we could decide on if we were walking or taking a taxi. There was also much fic plotting, discussion of who to ship with Chad and Pocky talking about her amazing headcanon of what happened to Billy after he left for Aquitar and the fic she’s working on. Then there was a random encounter with Hello Kitty. It was a Turbo/Hello Kitty crossover! We were both Turbo rangers at that point. I remained Turbo the whole weekend. I also brought Justin and took pictures of him in random places. Also sadly I don’t know enough about Hello Kitty to write a crossover.

Saturday started with breakfast and a slightly lost taxi driver. However we managed to find thesecondbatgirl and all was right with the world. We registered, got caught up and found Toys R Us where we all got swordfish zords because sword hats! I also got the megazord because I had gotten to see Pocky's the night before and omg minizords are too adorable for words. Then we found the place where the photos would be taken and sat around getting caught up. Then manwe_iluvendil mentioned that he liked Rocky/Adam and he and his friend, saturniia quickly joined our group. I was hoping we’d run into zokiblue and thankfully she was there! She joined our group and we suddenly had six! We were finally let in and David Yost was kinda just standing there and we were in the front row. One by one we got to go up and get a picture with him and he asked everyone’s names and was willing to play with toys or take pictures with toys. When it was all done they had a raffle for people to win scripts that he had brought and signed. Then he signed autographs and he was just so very nice. We finished before Samurai started so the six of us made our way back to my hotel room to try and catch the show. Along the way we decided colors since there were six of us and amazingly we ended up with a male pink! So thesecondbatgirl was our leader white, zokiblue was blue, pockysquirrel was yellow, manwe_iluvendil was pink, saturniia was red and I was green. We made it for the last half of Samurai and so glad we did because it was absolutely amazing. Then there was lunch, fic discussion, color theory discussion and of course getting to know one another. We went back for the next event which was an interview. We waited around in the very small hallway and of course while everyone talked like the dork that I am I ended up writing fic on my phone. They showed up some behind the scenes stuff and we got to ask questions. zokiblue also found her friends who had been missing! I got to ask a question and he gave away pictures and things to people who asked questions so I got a really cool pic of Billy all dressed up in a Sherlock Holmes costume. Also while answering one of the questions he confirmed pockysquirrel headcanon. It was amazing! After the interview we got more autographs which is where we tried to get autographs for friends who hadn’t made it. He said ‘Hi’ to everyone. I cannot reiterate enough how nice he was.

We went to Staples to get folders and then onto the next venue even though we knew we’d be early so that we could hang out some more. They let us in early since for some reason the place had reserved it from 4-6 instead of from 6-8 so they let us stay there from 4-8. We found some couches, encouraged those of the group who were on no sleep to take naps and plotted fic. He showed up, found a table where he could get some food and just hung out with fans the whole time. He also gave away more things in a raffle. I got a pic of Goldar and Ivan Ooze from the movie! So cool. We took some pictures, made some new friends and then said our goodbyes at the end of the night. He gave each of us hugs! He seriously gives the most amazing hugs. When you finally do get to meet him, tell him how amazing he is and give him a hug! This needs to happen.

Sunday was museum day! Pocky and I tried to find breakfast, but the line was either too long or the place was closed so we met Batgirl outside the museum and found out their food place didn’t open till 11. So we hunted around and found dinosaurs!

We also checked out gems and found part of the Zeo crystal!



There was also museum fic plotted. All too soon it was time to say goodbye and go home.



Pocky had to meet her aunt and Batgirl was nice enough to take me back to the hotel so I could get my bags and head to the airport. Plane ride was okay, got food after and then I put Justin back where he belonged next to Jubilee.



Best parts of the weekend:

-Meeting David Yost! So amazing! So nice! He gives the best hugs.

-Meeting up with thesecondbatgirl and pockysquirrel!

-Meeting fellow slash fans!

-Somehow inadvertently ending up in a group of six and picking colors.

-Watching PRS with like-minded fans while eating cookies and talking slash! Thank you zokiblue for making cookies!

-Museum run to find dinosaurs and plot fic of rangers in the museum.

In conclusion:
NPS held an amazing event. We had a lot of fun for which we are very grateful.

Also David Yost needs to know how amazing he is. So when you meet him tell him how amazing he is!
