I'm not sure how I ended up filling out last weekend the way I did, but I'm really happy I did. Partly because otherwise I would've ended up picking up at work and I really need a weekend off just to enjoy things.

Friday night a friend from writing group invited me to go see the Tina Turner musical with her and OMG it was amazing! I felt like I learned a lot about her life that I didn't know before. The child actress that played her younger self was so amazing and the actress that played her was also amazing. It gets bookened by a concert. It opens with her praying before a concert (I didn't know she was Buddhist) and then goes into her life story, which comes back around to her being at the concert. She then sings like she's doing a concert and you do feel like you're at one. One song the actress playing her adult version had the actress playing the child version come out and that was so great!

Saturday a different friend from my writing group picked me up after work, because I wouldn't have been okay to drive. We drove to Defiance Ohio and went to their Lilac festival. We didn't see any lilacs, but there were a lot of lilac soaps and candles. I bought a fidget ring that I'm in love with. I got some honey. There was a pig shaped cutting board that reminded me of my grandma, she loved pigs and had a similar cutting board. I was thinking it would be expensive, but it was only $55 and I'm so in love with it. We also found a resale/antique story that was absolutely amazing and I could've spent all my money in there, but somehow contained myself.

Sunday a fandom friend who I've never hung out with before and didn't realized lives so close and I hung out at the Columbus zoo and got pizza. For some reason we both thought the each other lived on the opposite end of the city, but we don't. The zoo was so much fun. I really wanted to see the manatee's again and we found our way over there around the time they'd been fed so they were happily munching away. The turtle was enjoying the food too. They had some really cool exhibits. There was a path that you could walk through the kangroo exhibit and a bird aviary where you can feed the birds. The feed the birds part has been shut down, but it was so cool to see the birds just flying around. The we got pizza at Giordano's and I will need to eat there again. It was also really nice to just be able to talk about toku, Star Wars, and different books.

Three snippets of fic from morphicon bunnies:

All are WIP: )
My connecting flight home from Morphicon was canceled. I'm stuck in San Francisco until tomorrow. I was supposed to start my last semester of nursing school tomorrow at 8am, now I'm flying out at about 6:30am. I also spent five hours trying to make sure everything was taken care of at the airport. It is a long process to get your checked bag back. They did however put me up for the night and I might have made a fandom friend who lives in my area!

I also have so many bunnies. TSB brought Slash. She is right, that is so the game for me. I was taking notes on the pairings we came up with.

This last weekend I got to go to [livejournal.com profile] pockythoughts’ wedding! It was wonderful and amazing. [personal profile] thesecondbatgirl dubbed it WeddingCon hence you get a report. I still have to write up a Morphicon report. Can I blame nursing school which I’m doing well in?

Morphicon was amazing. It was great to see everyone and spend time. Panels were fun as well. Got in late last night and slept in good today. Got mostly unpacked, but spent a lot of time with family. An Aunt and cousin came over for about two hours and visited. There was a mix up on one of my credit cards I took on the trip, but I got it resolved. I almost got charged for the hotel room twice...but it's fixed. Then I had dinner with my mom. It was uncomfortable, but we got caught up and spent time together. I am a bit upset that she missed my cousin's housewarming party because she had bible study. At least my excuse was that I was in another state. *shrug* What can you do? Also worked on femslash fic exchange assingments [livejournal.com profile] pockythoughts was nice and helped me look over the lists I put together and helped me pick one. So assignments will go out soon, probably after I get home from work tomorrow. I'll write up a con report soon too. *hugs* It was good to spend time with friends and come up with plot bunnies. I think the most amusing thing is that I'd lost the notes for the Zack is red verse, have spent months looking for them. So of course at Con I mention it and when I get home the first thing I find is the notebook that has those notes...and several other fic starts. Not only do I have Zack as red notes I found Delphine and Andros getting to know one another preseries and then a Skull/Adam fic where Skull is DT black because Tommy is Zeltrax and he's telling Adam everything. I also found nearly 4500 words of Dustin has to go back in time and kiss all the reds if he wants to go home. So I'm not even sure where to start at this point. There will be a con report in a few days though.

Bought my Morphicon ticket! Red ranger level this time.

Also reserved hotel room. From the 16th to the 20th this time so I don't miss anything.

Can't wait to hang out with everyone again. :)

So ready for a vacation. I'm very excited for this weekend. Hope to have lots of fun fannish times.

I've also decided that one of my goals for this weekend is to find a good pairing for Chad. LR needs more love. Prefer slash. Any suggestions?
I still haven't really written anything about it and am still trying to upload photos onto photobucket. Kinda got back and had to jump right back into the school routine.

Highlights were finally meeting everyone I talk to online and then the new people I hadn't talked to and hope I keep talking to. Fanfic writers breakfasts were just wow, so good. Loved geocaching after the con was over and fun in the park.

I mean it was great to go to the panels and to dress up in my green SPD uniform (so glad my aunt talked me into it), but the best part was hanging out with everyone from online.

Also I unintentionally bought actions figures of one of my ships. Chad/Ryan...
