thesecondbatgirl dubbed it WeddingCon hence you get a report. I still have to write up a Morphicon report. Can I blame nursing school which I’m doing well in?
I rearranged my school schedule so I could get Friday off from school so I’d be free to make the drive out there. I got started an hour late than I intended, but that wasn’t a bit deal because I’d given myself plenty of extra time until I was to pick up tsb from the airport. I’m so glad I decided to get gas before I got on the highway because there was an accident on the onramp I needed. So I got my gas, took backroads up to a different onramp and I was on my way!
This is an awesome rest area where you had to cross a bridge to get to the building. Yes, I took action figures.
I took my time getting there, even stopping at one rest area to work on fic. I only hit a lot of traffic when I came to the off ramp to get to the airport and just as I got through the traffic tsb let me know she had landed. I found a place to park and went and found her. There was much hugging and excitement and I got to see the amazing card with tons of fandom references that she made Pocky. Then it was off to the hotel!
We pulled in and saw Pocky’s fiancé, whom I recognized from pics on FB and then there was Pocky talking to him! Didn’t recognize her at first because her back was turned to us. Tsb gave Pocky her presents and there was much hugging because being PR fans means we are all about the group hugs. Then it was time to check into the hotel and find dinner! Dinner was yummy and Tsb and I discussed fic. I agreed to write her Adam/Kira and Justin/Ethan go on a double date and Adam is really uncomfortable. There was much discussion of Justin and Justin pairings and it was amazing of Tsb to indulge me because he really is one of my favorite chars. Then Tsb teased me about Alpha sign up and I signed up.
Then it was off to Pocky’s for games! This turned into finding out that Pocky’s sister-in-law is amazing and awesome and likes fandom things as well. So we spent most of the evening talking about fandom. Tsb also talked about cons and Alpha. (Seriously if you haven’t signed up for Alpha go sign up for Alpha!) There was also much yummy wine, though I only had a few sips as I was driving. We took Pocky to the hotel and then crashed. Well okay Tsb and I may have started talking about Morphicon, which led to discussion of fic and that somehow led to a plot bunny and that me covering my face with a pillow and telling her I should just forget it. Yeah, I now have 700 words of Adam/iS team post Always A Chance on my computer. Yes, this is what I was writing before Pocky got married.

Pocky’s wedding was in the afternoon and it the most amazing geekiest wedding ever! There was Lord of the Rings music and Zelda music. Everyone looked gorgeous and so very happy! Pocky’s husband cried and Pocky was so happy she was practically glowing. There are amazing happy pictures on facebook! Also it was raining and dark for most of the day, but an hour before the wedding the sun came out. The ceremony was beautiful. There were two readings and they were just perfect.
The reception was fun as well. The tables were named after different fandom destinations. Tsb and I were at Iron Forge, though we made sure to visit Angel Grove before we left. The dancing was fun, even though I don’t dance very well and the food was so good. Also our table made a tower out of our drink glasses, which got taken down by the staff and then rebuilt before being stolen by the staff again. Perhaps it was odd, but I recognized some of the people at the table from their pics on fb and they agreed that it was odd, but happened. Tsb and I mostly just hung out and found other geeky people to talk to. One of the guys at our table had just finished nursing school, so we talked about nursing school for awhile and probably grossed out everyone at the table. Sorry! It’s so fascinating. Also there was a photobooth so of course morphing in the photobooth occurred. Tsb and Pocky had Astro morphers while I had a Tubro. There was much wedding fic inspired.

The next day we had brunch with Pocky and her husband. Fic was discussed. The fact that I’m somehow writing porn was discussed. We helped make sure everything got to their car and headed over to their apartment. Then it was time for me to say goodbye and I was sad. There was a final group hug and I was on my way. My need to change oil light came on early on in the trip, which was odd because it should’ve been fine until I got home. It had a few hundred more miles to go. Then another light came on and I wasn’t sure what it meant. So I pulled over into the nearest rest area and all my tires were low. Got that fixed and I was once again on my way. Then I was home and it was over.
