In a few days Power Rangers Femslash Ficathon will go up! I'm going back to the same schedule we had the first year. This will be it's third year! Yay! All of you are awesome!

So this year do you want it to be run the same as it always was on LJ/DW or did you want it on Ao3 with a Masterlist put on LJ/DW?

Opinions? Thoughts?

I think it depends on what easiest for you! I think the AO3 system can make it easier, but it also has it drawbacks. I'll participate either way! <3

I'd like to try it on AO3, though if there's some rarepairs that don't have a tag yet, I'm not sure AO3 would let us. I think it would be nice to have one place that fans from both journal sites can congregate on. It'll be easier to catch all the comments you get.

Okay, now that I'm a bit more awake and more clear on what's going on here.

The tags on AO3 are as a rule user-generated. If a tag doesn't exist, it means nobody used it yet. There are some databse things for making tags searchable, but that's totally on the wrangler end: fics tags witth "Cassie Chan/Ashley Hammond" and with "Ashley Hammond/Cassie Chan" and with "Cassie/Ashley (Power Rangers)" all go to the same place. You can tag how you want. The tag wrangler for the fandom will take care of things.

There are some situations where seeding tags pre-use are necessary, e.g. for challenges that use tag sets. Most challenge go through Support to fix that, but I'm the tag wrangler for PR - I can create those tags for you. And if anything ever comes up that requires Admin access, I can page an admin directly, without needing to go through Support to get a wrangling admin or *handwave* You get the point.

And I can also tell you that the general spirit among tag wranglers is "Yay new tags!" So no, really, "would AO3 let us" is not a concern.

I was commenting while half asleep too. I meant in the 'AO3 wouldn't let us' as the system wouldn't have all the right tags. Someone on my reading list had been having some problems with getting the tag sets to work with a challenge she's doing, so I wasn't sure how easy of a fix it was. I'm glad to hear it won't be an issue. <3

I have no idea what AO3 is like from the administrative end, but I really like it from the participant end. I'm in, either way.

*raises hand* Power Rangers wrangler here. I can testify that the Support people are really nice and will help you set up the challenge if you need them to, and you got me right here with no need to go through Support for most tagging needs.

I vote for AO3! And if you need any help with figuring out the challenge set up, I can do that, since I ran Alpha there the last 2 years. <3
