So I let my Grandma drag me to church this morning. It wasn't half bad. I got a free donut and coffee when I went in, there was diner after and I got to see Bee as well. Bee a lady I use to be friends with when I went to church regularly, which was years ago. The message wasn't bad, the singing was amusing. They also had this introduction thing where you're suppose to say 'good morning' and shake other peoples hands. So several kids made sure to say good morning to me, Nate said hi, I shook hands with Bee and generally sat there watching them. Then the most stunning woman I've seen in a long while came over and shook my hand. I think my mind went numb. She was so just beautiful.
I think Keith caught me checking her out later cause he gave me a disapproving look. Checking out women in a Southern Baptist church, trust me not a good idea.
So yeah, I was amused even though I was tired and would have rather been curled up in my nice warm bed napping or reading a book and now that I've gone they're all expecting me back next week. We'll see what happens.
The book thing has reminded me I need to sit down with The Tempest so I can be ready for class tomorrow.
Anyway the work thing that was setting me off. There's this kid I work with Devin and he and one of his friends got it into his head that if he hit on me enough I'd sleep with him. He presented himself like he was joking, but wouldn't stop standing to close to me, attempted to kiss me several times and then grabbed my hand twice and wouldn't let go until I had an order on drive though. I mean I tried to pull my hand out of his without being violent about it and he wouldn't let go! I was fuming. It go to the point where I asked one of the managers to tell him to lay off. She looked at us, laughed slightly and then told him to just stop because I'm not into guys and it wasn't going to get him anywhere. This kid still didn't leave me alone. It didn't matter how many times I stressed that I was a lesbian, that he had a girlfriend (later he played the card that he didn't really have a girlfriend and had been lying about that), and that he was a minor.
I couldn't seem to get my point across and I was already in a bad mood that day because I was working with Brett and we had started talking and he let me know that he voted for the Marriage Act. He's the first person I've met who admits to voting for it. He told me no hard feelings because it wasn't like he went in there thinking that he was going to ruin my life. I had to back away from him and take few breaths because I felt the sudden need to burst into tears. I got over that and we had a mild debate over the matter until an order came in and we both just dropped it. Work was not the time or the place.
So yeah I was stressed.
The next time I worked with Devin it was with the same managers as before. So before he arrived I complained slightly jokingly of the way he had treated me because if he started again I had every intention of telling him to just drop it. Well we were slow so I was asked to drive him up to the bus stop so he could go home early. Him and me alone in my car. I grabbed the gayest music I could find in my car and put that on. He started hitting on me right away. I told him to quit. Actually I went off on him slightly telling him that I was a lesbian, nothing is going to change that and that while I wouldn't mind flirting with him in fun (which I do with several of the guys at work) he has to realize that it wouldn't go anywhere. I told him the guys I do flirt with respect the fact that it's just flirting for flirting sake, most of the time we just check out women together. So I told this kid that he was making me very uncomfortable and he needed to stop. He said he would.
The next time I saw him he was polite to me. I had to go up to work yesterday to see Kenny cause I let him borrow a movie and he needed to give it back. He informed me that I needed to get all my homework done this weekend because we are going out next weekend. I'm not sure if he remembers that next weekend is the first of the month hence that means I sorta alreay have plans to go see Rocky Horror. Kelly, the manager who does the schedules, asked me if I was sure I needed next Sat off and I gave her that reason.
Cept I think I'm the only one who wants to go to Rocky Horror. My brother I think already has plans and wouldn't want to go without his girlfriend who is only sixteen and therefore probably wouldn't be able to get in. Justin, a co-worker, seemed interested though. He's this open minded straight guy whose heavy into music. He's cool and he might go he said he'd get back to me. So I'm going out next weekend, I'm just not very sure what I'm going to end up doing.
