Something competely amazing has happened.
I didn't start reading comic books until I was 18. I had 2 that I'd snuck before I was 18, but before that they were a very hands off item. The reason for this was simple. My mom said no. As far as she was concerned comic books were for boys. I was allowed to watch the 90's cartoon and one of my fav jr high t-shirts was an X-men shirt, but no comics for me.
Then I hit 18. There was much money spent and lots of back issues bought.
My Aunt bought me some Gambit comics at a garage sale and my mom was pissed at her for it.
Then Marvel killed Northstar. I stopped reading. I would buy certain writers and read certain books, but generally I was staying away from X-men. Only I saw scans where they brought Northstar back in and it didn't look as awful as the way they brought him back to life. So I thought I'd take a peek. The store I went to was sold out. In fact they were two issues ahead of the one I wanted. The guy working there that reads X-men basically said that Northstar was in that one issue, joined the team and hadn't been shown since. I found another comic, not the one I wanted and realized that his guy was wrong. I decided I wanted that comic. I figured I'd go to my favorite place to buy back issues.
When I told my mom she pointed out that it's right by where she works and she could check to see if they had it. Well I just got home from work and she bought it for me!
So now I'm slightly worried my Mom may have been replaced. I need to go searching for the pod. :P
Except I am distracted by the JP. The JP with a boyfriend. And then there is that glimpse of Karma with a gf. Eep! JP looks kinda funny, not sure I like the art, but I may have to start reading again.
