Title: Never Wanted Nothing More Chapter 8 (A Reaction to Rudeness)
Fandom: X-men and it you want to get technical it’s Generation X
Pairings: Jono/Ang
Rating: Pg-13

30_kisses challenge #12 in a good mood. Hitting Monet hadn’t been the best idea. Jono deals with the depression after his anger and Ang puts his two cents in.
Disclaimer: I own nothing to do with the X-men or Generation X, it's not my toy box and I'm merely playing. I don’t own anything to do with the title, which I borrowed from a Kenny Chesney song. I also don’t own anything to do with Iron Chef, Star Trek or the song ‘Mary’ by the Scissor Sisters.
A/N: Jono speaks by projecting so his words will be in '' to represent that. The title of this piece is ‘Never Wanted Nothing More’ but each chapter also has a title.
A/N2: I’m behind on posting. This piece is already done up to chapter 9, however the piece as a whole was in desperate need of an edit so I did that before posting.
A Reaction to Rudeness:
Jono shook, cocooned under his covers and burrowed into his bed. He wasn’t coming out ever again. He should have known better than to think he had the right to peek his head out into the world above, that he should even leave his basement room.
He’d had two chances at different relationships. Why had he even thought he had the right to one? Monsters didn’t get to love.
He might have been comfortable with Ang, might have even been edging toward love, but after Gayle why would he think he even deserved anyone? He’d ruined her life, how could he not do the same to Ang?
He’d hit Monet. Emma or Sean would be down any moment to send him home, he was sure of it.
The almost funny thing was he’d been in a good mood before Ev had approached him. He should have known, Ev rarely wandered down into his basement room. Then Ev had said that Paige was in her room crying because of something Monet had said in regards to him. He’d barely heard Ev say that Jubes was calming Paige and he’d just thought Jono should known. He’d hit angry too fast to hear.
He hadn’t been that angry since Omega Red was threatening his teammates. Emplate hadn’t made him so angry, he’d been too worried about Gayle’s safety.
Without thinking he’d stormed upstairs and confronted her. He never thought when he was angry, he just reacted. It’d all happened so fast, the argument with Monet, the demanding to know what she’d said to Paige. Normally he tried to ignore Monet’s rudeness, but she’d gone too far. Then she’d called Ang a…a…
The bed dipped as someone joined him. It couldn’t be Emma, because she’d demand he’d come upstairs. It couldn’t be Sean, because he’d have sat down and started talking. He really hoped it wasn’t Jubilee. The someone laid next to him and began the slow process of find him under all his blankets.
“If you don’t get cold easily, what’s with the crazy amount of blankets?” Ang asked.
Jono blinked up at him from what remained of his cocoon. He wanted to say he liked the weight of them, but Ang would be able to feel his depression when he talked. Instead he blinked.
Ang rolled his eyes, “She deserved it.”
Jono shook his head.
“If we can forgive Ev for going all psycho and trying to….”
‘This is different.’
Ang shrugged, “She was being M, she deserved it. Paige’s gotta appreciate. I can take care of myself. Stupid words, can’t get upset about those.”
Jono’s eyes narrowed.
Ang smirked, “Course she’ll probably blame Jubes for the joke.”
‘Better than…”
“Ya don’t think when you’re mad, neither do I. So Sean’ll talk to you. It’s not like you used your powers.” Ang pointed out.
Jono shuddered at the thought, at least there had been that.
Ang bumped their noses together and told him, “M will never know what hit her. Think I can get Jubes on my side when the prank wars start. I might need someone with experience.”
Jono couldn’t help but crinkle his eyes.
Ang bragged, “I knew I could get you to smile!”
His smiled earned him a kiss on the nose, then Ang was burrowing under the covers with him. Ang’s fingers were cool against his temples, an imitation of the massage Jono tried to give when one of Ang’s migraines hit. Jono closed his eyes and leaned against Ang. He was still a monster, but at that moment he didn’t care. He might not deserve a relationship, but he wanted one and was going to have it.
