I picked up my friend from the airport today. She just spent five weeks in Africa. She went over there to get married. Now she's going to start working on getting her husband a visa. He's from Nigeria. I'm so happy it all worked out for her.
Picking her up kept me running for most of the morning. When I finally got home to grab my things and go into clinicals I realized I didn't feel well. I started to write it off as girly issues, but there is a bad stomach bug going around work. Not wanting to chance being sick and going into the hospital I called to say I wouldn't be in to clinical today. This means I have to do an absence form, a case study and have to wait another week to turn in my paper work. It also means I missed one of the two days I had to go to ER to practice IV starts. I'm not happy. Especially since I took some medicine, took it easy for a bit and haven't gotten ill again. Thank goodness, because I didn't want to call off for work on top of missing clinical. Better safe than sorry though. If I had been sick and exposed patients to the bug we have at work I'd have felt really guilty.
