Today in my research class we had presentations of our projects. I and my partner were suppose to go today, but she never showed up for class...which is fine, gives me time to put a power point together instead of us just standing up there with notes. She said she wasn't ready and wanted to see if the teacher would reschedule us for Monday...then she hit her head at work and couldn't come in.
This is not the geeky part. One of the guys did an experiment on mate selection. He wanted to see if a person would chose a mate from an ethnicity that was more heavily represented than another. So he put pictures of girls on cards that he thought no one would recongized with seven of one ethinicity and two of another. He had about seven different cards that he showed us and he had tried to get pictures of girls that he thought no one would recongize.
How odd am I that I'm pretty sure that two of the girls were senti actors? I couldn't tell you their exact season, but I had seen that exact picture of one of the girls and the other I just recongized.
I also had to explain Jack from Torchwood's sexuality to my 16 year old cousin who got slightly confused and watched Children of Earth because he thought it was the beginning of the Torchwood series.
