Dear Self,
While a part of me would like to know how I got myself into this mess again, since this was going to be the semester I studied like a crazy person and kept my nursing grade at passing the entire semester, I’m not going to ask.
So what am I doing?
I need to stop. I need to calm and I need to realize that I deserve this. I’ve worked hard to become a nurse. I’m going to be a fabulous nurse. My residents love me, even the ones I’ve met at clinical and only have had for a few hours. The nurses I’ve worked with at clinical have all had good things to say and the nurse’s I’ve worked with at the nursing home have been encouraging.
You can do this!
It’s a mere 3.7 percentage points. So study more, make more flash cards. Read the text and stop relying on notes. Yes they are awesome notes, but they are no substitute for the feeling of confidence you get when you’ve read and understood the text. You know what study method works for you, now use it! Stop doubting. Stop taking tests when you’re sick, call, cancel and then arrange a time with your teacher. Stop panicking in the middle of the test. You know the material and you can’t think when you panic. Nursing school is hard, it’s designed to be hard, but all that means is you can be that much prouder when you graduate and pass your boards.
You deserve this! It’s only seven more months. The end is in sight. Now take a deep breath and tell yourself you can do this.
