This has nothing to do with school.
I'm best friends with someone I work with. When we first started being friends she told me that this other girl we worked with told her she couldn't be my friend because I was gay. I wasn't sure what to think and was clearly offended. I worked with this other girl and was civil, but not friendly.
Today I had to come out to her. This other girl didn't even know I was gay. Her response: you are who you are.
So my best friend lied to me. She's done a lot of great things for me and I love spending time with her, but now I'm confused. Why lie about this? Why say something like that to me, knowing how much it was going to hurt me?
I don't know what to say to my friend. I just know it hurts.
It hurts more that I really wanted to talk to my parents about it, but didn't because I wasn't sure if I'd make them uncomfortable by bringing up the 'gay' aspect of the situation.
