Melancholy:
The fireworks are joyous. Sana wraps her arms more firmly around Hera and sighs. “I haven’t seen fireworks since I was a child.”
Hera snorts. “I think the last time I saw any was an Empire Day celebration.”
They grimace.
Hera sighs, resting her head on Sana’s shoulder. “I keep thinking I should be happier.”
“It’s difficult not to think of the people you’ve lost when we’ve finally won,” Sana surmises.
Hera hums her agreement. Sana presses a kiss to the side of her head. Hera shifts to kiss her. “Thanks for understanding.”
Sana keeps kissing her under the fireworks.
