Making Memories:
Jesse feels a moment of disconnection as he looks at all the neon signs offering fun on these hot summer nights, when he knows a few levels down there are blackouts to conserve energy. Sometimes he wonders what part of the Republic they’re actually protecting.
“What’s wrong?” Kix asks, leaning into him.
Jesse wraps an arm around Kix’s waist and tugs him closer. “Existential crisis.”
Kix tugs him into an alcove and presses close. Jesses kisses him, willing to be distracted. Leave is short. Their lives are short. He wants as many good memories with Kix as he can make.
