I've been listening to The Approaching Storm by Alan Dean Foster and only have about an hour left. It's trying very hard to be a space western in a we are journeying around on the plains and interacting with nomadic tribes kind of way. Which well, westerns are not my thing. However, I'm really loving the way Luminara and Barriss are being written. It's also kinda fun to see both Anakin and Barriss be padawans on an adventure together.
I'm also reading the eighth book in the Jedi Apprentice series by Jude Watson and I knew going in that it's heavy on the Obi-Wan whump in a throw Qui-Gon under the bus kinda way (not that Qui-Gon doesn't have his issues, but there are a few times where you want to just grab him in this series, shaking him, and remind him that he is an adult). I can suspend my disbelief and accept that Qui-Gon would have some trauma he hasn't dealt with over what happened with Xanatos and that it would take him time to feel comfortable teaching a padawan again. That he gets busy and forgets to eat, okay I've been there with work a few times. But I'm supposed to believe that he's got a teenage student with him and he forgets to make sure that Obi-Wan has got enough food to eat? Really. Really? *sigh*
