fan_flashworks prompt foot. References the book The Approaching Storm in regards to Barriss dancing.
Tending:
Ahsoka tries to pay attention to the foot movements Barriss is putting into the dance she’s displaying, but she keeps getting distracted by the way Barriss is spinning her blue lightsaber. The entire affect is breathtaking, would probably even be breathtaking to anyone Barriss isn’t sleeping with.
“You know,” Ahsoka wheedles.
Barriss slows her movement just slightly.
“We’re alone so if you want to practice naked…”
Barriss snorts.
“Look, it might help me pay more attention to your footwork.”
“I’m not even sure you believe that,” Barriss teases gently as she turns her lightsaber off, sets it on her nightstand, and begins her cooling down routine.
“Maybe just your bra and underwear?”
Barriss laughs. “Maybe next time we’re alone, though I doubt I will get much dancing done and you’ll have to warn me before you attempt to tackle me, I’d hate to singe you.”
“That’s so long from now!” Ahsoka complains.
“Neither one of us needs to leave for another few hours,” Barriss points out as she stops jogging in place and starts to stretch. Ahsoka’s eyes follow the movement of her hands, moving to Barriss’ face when her girlfriend asks, “Are you already packed?”
“Yes, but we should eat and I should check in with Tup,” Ahsoka informs her. “I think he’s nervous about his first mission as a padawan.”
“Reassuring him would probably be helpful,” Barriss encourages. “It’s your first mission as a Knight with a padawan, how are you feeling?”
“Nervous too, but Obi-Wan will be there with Gungi and that’s helping,” Ahsoka admits. She wet her lips. “How are things with Kix?”
“He’s…” Barriss trails off as if she’s searching for the right word. “Stubborn?”
Ahsoka laughs, then stills as Barriss turns and starts stretching her calves. Her eyes track Barriss’ slow movement. Ahsoka shakes her head, trying to go back to the conversation. They’ve already spent a lazy weekend together and it’s nearly time to get ready for their respective missions.
“Did you think I was going to comment on his sense of humor?” Barriss asks, clearly attempting to keep her tone serious, but there’s a lightness there that lets Ahsoka know she’s teasing.
“Every healer I’ve met has a twisted sense of humor,” Ahsoka comments. Barriss snorts as she continues stretching. “What he’s being stubborn about?”
“Stubborn isn’t the right word,” Barriss sighs. “He’s still getting used to healing like a Jedi and not a medic. A lot of that knowledge base is helpful, but he doesn’t need to rely on equipment as much as he’s used to doing. He’ll get there.”
“You’re helping,” Ahsoka encourages.
“He’s a good student,” Barriss demurs.
“If I’m helping Tup get more comfortable with his Force abilities after what he went through attempting to resist a mind control chip than you are defiantly helping Kix,” Ahsoka insists.
“Alright, I admit I’m a good teacher,” Barriss agrees with a laugh as she drops into Ahoska’s lap. Ahsoka hands automatically go to her hips. She wets her lips. Barriss checks her comm, hums to herself, then tells Ahsoka, “I’m setting an alarm.”
Ahsoka agrees, waits for Barriss to set the alarm and then pulls her into a kiss.
