Debating Rooms:

Len doesn't really remember his time post Oculus as trying to get the attention of the Waverider crew. He remembers Mick thought he was a hallucination and apparently that led to the discovery of a chip in Mick's head, so he doesn’t feel bad about attempting to talk to Mick. It might also explain why he decided to stop talking to Mick, he doesn’t want to damage his partner's already precarious mental health. Len knows he tried to talk the rest of the crew on the Waverider. He remembers sarcastically questioning several of Sara's decisions. He's pretty sure he gave the professor the same treatment. He remembers yelling at Ray in frustration several times. He's relatively sure he offered Jax life advice. No one heard or saw him except Mick.

There must have been long endless days where he ghosted around the ship.

Then Lisa visits Mick. She's using his plans to get together the team he plotted before Rip Hunter showed up with promises of time travel. The Rogues will be a reality. She wants Mick to join them. Len leans in the doorway trying to decide if he should push Mick to see him, hear him, except he doesn’t know what advice to give. A part of him wants Mick to stay on the ship, continue to have adventures with the family he’s building, but another part of him wants his family, both Lisa and Mick, to build the Rogues together.

Hartley Rathaway is with Lisa and it takes Len a moment to realize he’s being stared at. They stare at each other. Hartley tilts his head, eyes narrowing before he’s finding Constantine and the two are conferring.

Len isn’t really sure what they do to bring him back, but an hour after Lisa shows up he’s solid and whole. He’s alive. Mick looks awestruck. Lisa hugs him tightly and wants him off the ship with her. Len knows it would make sense to go with Lisa and drag Mick with him. He died helping this crew. His instinct to get away from them should be strong, except he wants to stay.

Sara frowns at him. Len rolls his eyes. “I know you have a girlfriend.”

She rolls her eyes. “I’m trying to figure out if you need to bunk with someone or if we can convert part of the lab into a room. Or what we can convert into a room.”

“Gideon would know,” Mick points out.

“I tend to sleep in the library,” Constantine points out. “He can have my room.”

“Are you going to start wearing clothes?” Sara asks, crossing her arms.

“Why would I do that?” Constantine teases.

“You just run around the library naked?” Len asks. “You don’t indicate on the door that you're naked, you just let them walk right in and see you?”

Somehow Len thinks he already knows the answer. He thinks he might have seen Constantine naked more than once. The memories are vague and dreamlike though.

Constantine looks as though he’s going to protest, but then Sara jumps in. “That might be a good idea.”

“I’m usually dressed,” Constantine points out.

“And you have a room to be naked in if that’s what you want, not a public area that anyone going on a tour can access?” Sara counters.

“Tour?” Len questions. “Why are there tours now?”

“Was,” Mick corrects. “There was a tour, back when the Time Cops were funding us and trying to tell us how to be Time Cops.”

“Time Bureau,” Ava corrects.

“Are we still working with the Time Cops?” Len asks.

Mick shrugs.

“There was a restructuring,” Ava says.

Len frowns at her. He needs more information. That’s too vague. He leans back in his chair to regard her and then Sara. “If you’re having trouble with financing we could always team up with the Rogues or give the Rogues use of the Waverider…”

“They’ll turn them good,” Mick protests. “By the whole ‘power of friendship’ and ‘we’re all family’. It’s what they do! Have you seen Nate’s sad face? It’s worse than Haircut’s!”

“Didn’t Mick work with the Time Masters?” Ava asks, frowning. “They were stricter than the Time Bureau.”

“Not by choice and he was brainwashed,” Len says flatly. Maybe they should leave?

Ava looks horrified. “You were brainwashed?”

Mick shrugs.

“None of this answers if Len is staying or going,” Charlie tells them as she leans into the doorway and then walks away.

“I think he should stay,” Nate says. “So we can at least get to know him better. Ray missed you and I know Mick did too.”

“Thanks,” Len frowns. He remembers being jealous of Nate’s ease with Mick when he was ghosting around the ship. He remembers being upset with the way someone who looked like Charlie, but isn’t Charlie, treated Mick as well. Len rubs at his temples. Why is this ship so confusing?

Except the questions he doesn’t have answered are exactly why he wants to stay.

Lisa laughs and hugs him. “Of course you're staying. I can see it on your face. Call if you want to visit or team up with the Rogues.”

“Feel free to run things by me,” Len encourages.

“I might. I might not,” Lisa teases. Hartley says goodbye too. Ava helps them leave.

Sara stares at their retreating forms and then looks at Len. “I thought she’d try harder to get you to leave.”

“She’s my sister,” Len points out. “She knows me. She knows why I’d want to stay.”

“I can share my room,” Mick offers.

“He can have mine,” Constantine says.

Len gets to his feet to let them figure it out. Mick will stick up for him. He wanders his way to the study, looking for quiet as he acclimates himself to the ship. The crew is different, with different skill sets and a different dynamic. He finds Charlie in the study. She indicates the bottle she’s drinking from. He shakes his head. She shrugs. He drops down into a chair. He slouches, letting his legs stretch. Should he ask Charlie or Gideon about the new crew? He’ll probably end up asking both of them, weighing dynamics and then asking everyone else. For now though he’s going to enjoy being able to feel the chair beneath him, knowing his partner can see him, and the companionable silence of sitting with Charlie.
