Warmth:

Julian punches in the code Garak set up for him for his quarters. It sets off a chime that lets Garak know who’s it is instead of the generic chime. The door slides open.

“Miles managed to get the heater fixed,” Julian calls out as he enters. “The temperature should be more comfortable soon. I’m just checking in on everyone who didn’t come to wait out the repairs in the medbay.”

“In my bedroom,” Garak tells him.

Julian crosses Garak’s quarters to his bedroom door. He leans in the doorway before asking gently, “How are you?”

Garak is covered by a heavy looking blanket and there’s a space heater near his bed. “Comfortable as long as I don’t get up.”

Julian crosses to the bed and Garak allows Julian to check his temperature. Julian feels his shoulders relax. “That’s close to normal for you.”

“How many more people do you need to see?” Garak inquires.

“Saved you for last,” Julian reveals fondly.

Garak smiles, then pats the mattress next to him. “Come warm up for a moment.”

Julian considers this briefly. He checks the time. His shift ended hours ago, not that this matters in the middle of a crisis.

“They’ll get ahold of you if they need you,” Garak reminds.

“You’re right,” Julian agrees before he sets his case of equipment next to Garak’s nightstand, then sits carefully on the bed so he can take his boots off. He shifts so he can get under the covers while letting out as little warmth as possible. Julian blinks as Garak settles around him. “Is the blanket heated?”

“And weighted,” Garak agrees.

Julian lets out a sigh of relief. “This is so nice.”

“Nap?” Garak suggests.

“Please. Do you mind if I set an alarm?”

Garak presses a kiss against the side of his face. “Set your alarm, then rest.”

“Thank you,” Julian tells him, then tilts his head so his lips can meet Garak’s.
